Switchstance Recordings is super proud to announce its 20th anniversary. The label was established by Tom Strauch (aka DOGU of Ancient Astronauts) in 2001 and the label compilation FANTASTIC FREERIDING was the very first release.
Fast forward to 2021 and we look back to 20 years of producing and releasing music we love. Our core artists since the beginning are Ancient Astronauts, Protassov, Kabanjak and Deela. Over the years the family grew bigger and artists such as Astroboter, Subrok Mission, Aeronautix, Kinski, Void Pedal, Alexander, Fat Albert Einstein, Enrique Nicolas Noviello and Sema Lo joined the artist roster.
Our artists worked with international artists such as The Jungle Brothers, Thievery Corporation, Akua Naru, The Pharcyde, DJ Brace, Zion Train, Raashan Ahmad, Tippa Irie, Azeem, Martin Perna of Antibalas, Ocote Soul Sounds, Vieux Farka Toure, Shawn Lee, Fort Knox Five, Nickodemus, Hugo Kant and many many more. "Quality grooves for advanced listeners" is and always was the motto for all music we put out.
To celebrate the anniversary our label head Tom Strauch put together a Spotify playlist that showcases the highlights of the past 20 years. And for the end of 2021 we have planned a label compilation with brand new music by our artists.
