1. New Releases
the 14th of august saw the first digital-only release of our label through our new worldwide exclusive digital distributor Finetunes. the label compilation "Forward Ever, Backward Never" showcases the musical highlights of Switchstance Recordings from the past 5 years and features tunes by the Ancient Astronauts, Deela, Kabanjak and Protassov. Watch out for this fine compilation in every good digital download-shop that you know. here´s direct link for the compilation:
the next planned physical (vinyl 12") and digital release will be a new EP by Deela called „Everything Counts". it features superb remixes by Radio Citizen and Kid Loco as well as african singer FireTongue on vocal duties. as usual you can expect some heavy afro/latin/funk/headz kinda tunes to shake up dancefloors worldwide. you can check some first songs of the EP on www.myspace.com/deelaswitchstance . we keep you updated with release date and full listening link soon.
our psychedelic beatmonster Protassov is back! and what a return that is. the release of his debut album Shalina Music got huge international feedback and radioplays by people like Richard Dorfmeister, Kid Loco, Makossa, Diesler, Michael Rütten, Pete Isaacs, Bruno From Ibiza and many more. the man returns with his first digital-only EP called "Where We Live" that features 3 new bomb tracks for the advanced headz out there. check out his myspace to get your first listening pleasure www.myspace.com/aprotassov . release date and full listening link soon. wanna see some cool girl skate action with Protassov´s music in the background? check out the new girl skate podcast on www.vans.de that used "Shalina Music". respect to the ladies, it´s sooo good!
and last but not least the "Modern Stalking EP" by The Beatstalkers on our bootleg-sublabel Foot Forward Music get´s heavy club and radio rotation worldwide. our friend Mr. Thing of former Scratch Perverts fame says "Watch out for this one, it's a monster!"

2. Ancient Astronauts USA tour
as mentioned in our last newsletter our artists Ancient Astronauts are now exclusively signed to ESL Music from washington dc, the label of Thievery Corporation. we are very happy to announce there first usa tour in september and october which will see solo dj gigs by Dogu and Kabanjak as well as them supporting the Thievery Corporation band on their live tour in texas and florida. the Ancient Astronauts will be their support dj´s and aftershow party dj´s. we will keep you in the loop for the full list of tour dates of the Ancient Astronauts. here are the first confirmed dates:

the release of the Ancient Astronauts album got great international feedback and support and already ESL Music got the first great licenses in for the next Gran Tourismo car game and the newest snowboard & freeski dvd by superb production company Teton Gravity Research. you can also check out Dogu´s and Kabanjak´s music in a short documentation about 16 year old skateboard wonderboy Chaz Ortiz on the american action sports platform ESPN. watch it online here: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4359962
this guy is such an amazing skateboarder and rips it like no other. he rides for Zoo York and DC Shoes and was featured in the latest team dvd of Zoo York. and you know what? our man Kabanjak´s music is featured in this dvd as well. really worth to check out!
besides touring preparations and already working on their second album, the Ancient Astronauts were busy with remixes for Timewarp Inc., Analogik, Federico Aubele, DJ Brace & Brown Bag Allstars and Ocote Soul Sounds. busy busy these guys.
